Thelma M. Putnam, 82, 818 Kentucky Ave., died Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Putnam was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Henry Thomas Godsey and Ruth Tipton Godsey Dulaney. Mrs. Putnam was preceded in death by her husband, William Vance Putnam; one son, Wade Crum; two sisters, Lulu Bell Miller and Maudie Godsey; four brothers, David Godsey, Dewey Godsey, Robert Godsey and Stanley Godsey and three great grandsons. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Putnam was survived by six sons, Alfred Crum, Bill Crum and Frank Crum all of Johnson City, Ed Crum, Elizabethton, Fred Crum, Erwin and George Crum, Telford; one daughter, Nancy Davis, Johnson City; one brother, James Godsey, Erwin; one sister, Evelyn Jackson, Johnson City; twenty grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, eight great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Mrs. Putnam will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Reverend Betty Roberson will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
