Thelma Willard Hampton

August 20, 1924 — April 11, 2015

Mrs. Thelma Willard Hampton, 90, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Hampton was a life long resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late James Elbert and Anna Joe Vaughan Lowe. Preceding in death are her parents, her husband, Dayton E. Hampton; one sister, Virginia Baines; one brother, Howard Lowe preceded her in death. Mrs. Hampton was a member of the Skyline Heights Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include: one son, Lynn Hampton; one daughter, Mary Ann Hinshaw and her husband CL; one sister, Anna Jean Baskett; three grandchildren, Lisa Miles, Sandra Hampton and Karen Pearson; three great grandchildren, Logan Miles, Rebecca Pearson and Rachel Pearson; two nephews, Jim and Charles Baines; special friend, Patrick Ryan. The family of Mrs. Thelma Willard Hampton will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Donald L. Page officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Skyline Heights Baptist Church, 1601 Skyline Drive, Johnson City TN 37604.
