Thomas E. Dober, 84, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee after a short illness. Mr. Dober was born in Omaha, NE to the late Joseph and Mercaline Dober. He moved to North East Tennessee 10 years ago. Mr. Dober was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 41 years. He was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed horseshoes. He was a caring and loving father. Tom will always be remembered for his sense of humor, easy going personality, and unfailing desire to help other people. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dober was preceded in death by: his first wife, Patricia Dober; and one sister, Marilyn Hetricks. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Cholly Dober; seven children, Scott, Mike and his wife Lezlie, Mark, Pat, Kelly, Joe and Tom Dober and his wife Amy; three grandchildren, Macy, Sam and Madison Dober; and five siblings, Don, Marvin, Dick, Jerry Dober and Karen Weiner. The family of Thomas Dober will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM Monday, April 16, 2018 at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, NE. A celebration of life will follow at 11 AM.
