October 30, 1935 — March 5, 2016

Thomas E. Phillips, 80, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a Washington County native and son of the late William D. and Elizabeth Oliver Phillips. Mr. Phillips served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Rainbo Bakery after working there for 37 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by: two sisters, Maxine Hayes and Vivian Louise Phillips; and five brothers, Howard J. Philips, Walter C. Phillips, Clarence E. Phillips, William H. Phillips, and Raymond Phillips. Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Peggy G. Phillips; two daughters, Lori Ann Davis, and Beverly Denise Crane and her husband Eddie; two grandsons, Anthony Jordan Dugger and Thomas Michael Taylor; three granddaughters, Casey Lynn Dugger, Elizabeth Ann Dugger, and Crystal Taliathia Johnson; nine great grandchildren, Sondai Drevon Ewing, Tionna Emara Ewing, Alynoxx Justice Dugger, Akira Malaun Beco, Briana Johnson, Candace Johnson, Hannah Taylor, Michael Taylor, and Joshua Taylor. The family of Thomas Phillips will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 PM. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:15 PM Wednesday to go in procession to East Tennessee Cemetery for 1:00 PM graveside services.
