Mr. Thomas Patrick 'Pat'? Ledford, 75, of Jonesborough, Tennessee passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center lovingly surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and his brothers in a celebration of his life. Pat was born in Pike County, Kentucky. He was raised in Roadfork, Kentucky and lived the remainder of his life in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Donald Ledford and Louise Ledford. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two infant sons, John Talmadge Ledford and Andrew Baird Ledford; three sisters, Francis Hatfield, Joyce Suitor, and Florence Marie Ledford; two brothers, Donald Ledford, Jr. and Ronald Ledford. Pat served in the United States Army and was a Specialist third class. He was a member of the Honor Guard and traveled as a competitive sharp shooter. He was a member of the First Division 'The Big Red One'? and served at Fort Riley, Kansas; Germany, and throughout Europe. Pat was a retired Entrepreneur. Survivors include: his wife of fifty-five years, Mary Baird Ledford of the home; one son, Thomas Paul Ledford and his wife, Saundra; one daughter, Susan Dianne Blankenbeckler and her husband Richard 'Roy'? Blankenbeckler; four brothers, Alan Ledford, Roger Ledford, Phillip Paul Ledford, and Dennis Ledford; three sisters, Emma Louise Spivey, Carol Jean Varney, and Molly Edith Hultquist; four grandchildren, Joshua Paul Ledford and his wife Cristel, Sara Lynne Blankenbeckler, Stuart Kaleb Blankenbeckler, and Thomas Cody Ledford; one beloved great granddaughter, Eleanore Grace 'Laney'? Ledford. The celebration of Pats life will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pats service will be held by his brother Reverend Alan Ledford. The entombment service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers are: his four grandchildren and Dale Ledford, Don Davis, Todd Lyons, and Joe Sell. Honorary pallbearers are; Jim Sell, Mike Carrubba, Jim Cress, Lee Odom, Don Arnold, Clyde Carter,Ted Morgan and Dan Shipley. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Johnson City Medical Center for their thoughtful care of Pat.
