Thomas S. Martin, Jr.

Mr. Thomas S. Martin, Jr., age 76, of Johnson City, passed away, Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Martin was a native of Elizabethton who had lived in Vienna, Virginia for thirty years and had lived in Johnson City since 1993. He was the son of the late Thomas Sizemore Martin, Sr. and Helen Roberta Shell Martin. Mr. Martin received a B.S. in Mathematics from East Tennessee State University. He retired from the U.S. government in 1993 as a Computer Specialist. He was a member of the East Unaka Christian Church. Survivors include: one sister, Ruth Martin Lundy of Johnson City; one brother, Fred Lane Martin and his wife Diane of Carrollton, Georgia; two nieces, Penny Ogletree of Kingsport and Alison Martin of Carrollton, Georgia; one nephew Lanny Martin of Knoxville. The funeral service for Mr. Thomas S. Martin, Jr. will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, November 14, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be the members of the East Unaka Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the East Unaka Christian Church, 1201 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
