Tommie Lou Segrest

Tommie Lou “Granny” Segrest, age 80, of Johnson City passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Johnson City Medical Center on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. She was born in Grundy, Virginia on September 16, 1940.

She met her husband Bryant Segrest and married in 1958. They moved to Johnson City in 1963.

Tommie loved her gardening and cooking for her family. She loved spending time on her back deck and enjoying her flowers and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bryant Segrest on April 1, 1997.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her sons, Craig Segrest (Becky) and Eric Segrest (Leslie), her grandchildren are Cody Segrest and Ashley Turner.

Tommie’s family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Ronald Blackmore, NHC healthcare, especially Sam. Her very special friends: Harriet, Mark, Shirley, Peggy, Pansy, Pablo, James and Laurie.

The family plans a private memorial service.
