Tommy Lee Carr, 72, of Jonesborough, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He was a native of Washington County, son of the late Crockett Lester and Nancy Katherine Feathers Carr. Tommy was a self-employed plumber. He was a member of the Watauga Flats Church of God. He enjoyed fishing a watching UT Sports and spending time with his 'Little Buddy'? Jacob. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Cindy Marie Carr; three brothers, Andrew, Charles and Billy Jack Carr; three sisters, Evelyn Adams, Elizabeth Cox and Maggie Carr. Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Martha K. Green Carr of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Lee and Stephania Carr of Gray; a daughter, Penny Henry of Jonesborough; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Judy Carr of Johnson City; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Lee Barnes of Johnson City; a grandson, Jacob Lee Carr of Gray; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Jane Metcalf of Jonesborough. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 7:30 pm in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Estel Williams. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm until time of service at 7:30 pm. A committal service will be conducted on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Carr Cemetery with a procession leaving Morris '? Baker Funeral Home at 10:30 am. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Dawn of Hope, Inc., P. O. Box 30, Johnson City, TN 37605.
