Trudy A. Hodges, 62, 272 Sinking Creek Road, Johnson City, died Sunday January 13, 2008 in the NHC HealthCare. Miss Hodges was a native of Washington County who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Albert L. and Doris Adkins Hodges. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert E. and Roger D. Hodges; and one sister, Judith Elaine Powers. She was a former employee of the beauty shop at Kings Department Store, North American Rayon Corporation, ITT Electric, and the Johnson City Transit Authority. Miss Hodges was a member of the first all girls band, 'The Illusions'?. She was a member of the King Springs Church of Christ. Survivors include: two brothers, Donald Ray and Terry Lee Hodges both of Johnson City; four nieces, Cynthia Carney, Sandy Hodges, Marietta Hodges and Angie Hodges; six nephews, Randy Powers, Keith Hodges, Toney Hodges, Rick Hodges, Robbie Hodges and Jimmy Lee Hodges. The funeral service for Trudy A. Hodges will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Brother Billy Manuel will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the funeral chapel at 12:30 PM Wednesday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be Mike Grindstaff, Merle Grindstaff, Bill Carter, Don Hodges, Cameron Powers, Tim Buck and Glenn Silvers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Booth, Randy Powers, Dr. Smalligan and Frankie Williams. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 Pm Tuesday prior to the service.
