Velma Eunice Stuffle Norton, 83, Gray, went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2016, at Agape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was born on May 27, 1932 in Hawkins County, TN to the late William Stuffle and Ollie Mae Cumbow Stuffle. Mrs. Norton was retired from Texas Instruments. She was an active member of University Parkway Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 51 years, William ?Bill' Norton, Jr.; five brothers, James Stuffle, Howard Stuffle, Dorman Stuffle, Woodrow Stuffle and Marvin Stuffle; and two sisters, Sarah Stuffle and Dorothy Lane. Survivors include: one daughter, Vicky Hames and her husband John, of Gray; one granddaughter, Sara Core and her husband Houston, of Greensboro, NC; and two brothers, George Stuffle, of London, KY, and Walker Stuffle, of Mooresburg, TN. The family of Velma Norton will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday, May 20, 2016 at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Scott Thompson and Dr. Michael Oaks officiating. Kathy Thompson will provide music. Pallbearers include: Jerry Huskins, Steve McKinney, Josh Garland, John Hames, Jerry Worley and Houston Core. A committal service will immediately follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice Care for their loving care and services, particularly her nurse, Scott Murray.
