Venie ?Hazel' Norris Triplett, 95, of Johnson City, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Hazel was born in Doeville located within Johnson County, TN in 1922. She was a homemaker, honored wife, and longtime beloved member of North Johnson City Baptist Church. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry Triplett; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Curtis Howard Norris and Charles ?Pete' and Fay Norris; two daughters, Susie Merritt and Beth Bradford; a son, Jerry Triplett and a granddaughter, Kristie Rutherford. She is survived by numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends, on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Morris ? Baker Funeral Home in the Dogwood Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 pm under the direction of Pastor Rick Powell. A committal service is scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 10:00 am. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. A procession from Morris ? Baker to Monte Vista is to leave at 9:45 am. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to: UT Cancer Research Institute, Medical Building F, 1926 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920 or the Ruth Sunday School Class, c/o North Johnson City Baptist Church, 305 Ferndale Road, Johnson City, TN 37604.
