Violet Conner

Violet Conner, 80, (39 and holding) 400 S. Barton Street, Johnson City, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at her residence. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. Conner was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Betty Green Bowman. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Raymond Conner in 1982, one infant son, Raymond Gordon Connor, Jr., and six brothers. Mrs. Conner was retired from Leon Ferenbach with 33 years of service. She attended McKinley Bible Church. Survivors include three sons, Ronald Conner and his wife, Linda, Johnson City, Gary W. Conner and his wife, Janie, Jonesborough and Terry Conner and his wife, Karen, Johnson City; one brother, Archie Bowman, Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Rhonda, Gary A., Jaime and Amy; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Mrs. Conner will be held at 3:30 pm Friday, January 23, 2009 at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Reverend Lenny Smith will officiate. Friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 3:00 pm and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Caris Healthcare Hospice, 1409 W. Market Street Suite 106, Johnson City, TN 37604.
