Violet Rae Paul Laws, 88, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her residence. Violet was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She was a daughter of the late William Andy and Stella McNabb Paul. Violet was a homemaker and a longtime member of Harrison Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen G. Laws; two sisters; and five brothers. Survivors include two sons, Jerry David Laws and his wife Kay, and Phillip Keith Laws; two granddaughters, Carly Melin and her husband Danny, and Hillary Beaulieu and her husband Sean; six great grandchildren, Benaiah, Jonah, Huxton, Eli, and Juliette Melin, and Fox Beaulieu; special niece and her husband, Sheri and Whitney Riddle; special great niece and nephews, Avery, Tyler, and Dylan; sister, Jean Hughes; several other nieces and nephews. The family of Violet Laws will receive friends from 11 am to 12:30 pm Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Following the visitation, family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for a 1 pm graveside service. Mr. Brian Powell, Minister will officiate.
