Virginia M. Marx

Virginia M. Marx, 87, of the Colonial Hill Retirement Center, began her new journey with Christ as she passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the residence of her daughter, Eleanor Snow in Johnson City.She had a large and loving family with her parents, eleven siblings, and then, all of their families. Virginia was the eldest daughter of the late John Patrick and Martha Alward McLaughlin of Woodstock, N.B. Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford M. Marx of Meriden, CT.She was active in the community of Meriden, CT, the St. Johns Lutheran Church, and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile. Virginia was a flower lover, an avid gardner, and a rose grower. She especially loved her kitties: Peaches, George and Katy. She spent many summers at, 'the shore,' in Pte. du Chene, N.B., and was very much at home with the ocean. Later in life she was known as the 'Go Girl.' - was always on the go!Survivors include ; one daughter, Eleanor Snow and her husband, Joel Phillips of Johnson City; two sisters, Marion Berry and Gail P. Lane both of Woodstock, NB, Canada, her grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.There will be a memorial service to be announced. Other services for Mrs. Marx will be held later this spring, 2009, in Gethsemane Lutheran Church Cemetery in Meriden, CT
