Matthew 11:28 Virginia Snyder Effler, 88, of Johnson City, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Agape Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a native of Jonesborough, daughter of the late Aud and Raidell Nave Snyder. Virginia was a nurses aid. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Earl Effler of 65 years in 2009; a son, John Effler; four brothers, Everette, Dick, Gene and D. C. Snyder. Survivors include: two daughters, Fran Hicks of Johnson City and Shirley Jordan of Jefferson City; a sister, Peggy Greene and her husband, Jerry of Snow Hill, NC; five grandchildren, Robert Hicks, Leigh Ann Bowser, Donna Horton, Tara Parton and John Earl Effler; five great grandchildren, Katie Bowser, Caleb Bowser, Savanna Effler, Christopher Effler and Chance Horton; a caring friend and neighbor, Wendell White. Virginia chose to be cremated and a private scattering will be held at a later date.
