Virgle Geneva Miller

Virgle Geneva Miller, 89, of Johnson City, passed away, Monday, December 8, 2008, at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Washington County, she was a daughter of the late William Leroy and Della Mae Elrod. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and was a member of Berea Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Oscar Joseph Miller, Sr., her brothers, George Elrod, Warren Elrod, Harry Elrod and Bob Elrod and her sisters, Lou Lacey, and Vesta Harris. Survivors include her brother, Carl Elrod, four sons: Oscar Joseph Miller, Jr., Gary Lee Miller and wife, Lou, Samuel Leroy Miller and wife, Tanya, and Richard David (Dickie) Miller and wife, Penny; four daughters: Lorena Jean Royal and husband Mike, Shirley Branum and husband, John, Sharon B. Scott and husband, Joe, and Delores (Doddie) Davis and husband, Bob, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 7 pm from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Officiating the services will be Reverend Jerry Stout and Reverend Edward Davis. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 at11 am at the Huffine Cemetery, off Lone Oak Road in Johnson City. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
