Mr. W. Herman Bare, 91, of Piney Flats, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Bare was a native of Piney Flats. He was the son of the late Dewey Martin Bare and Flora Friesland Bare. In addition to his parents his wife of sixty-eight years, Clara Carr Bare; one sister, DeAnna Bare Miller; five brothers, D. Howard Bare, Billy R. Bare, Fred D. Bare, Cecil B. Bare and Kenneth E. Bare also preceded him in death. He was a U. S. Army WWII veteran of the Philippines Campaign. He was a senior operator for the TVA Boone Dam. Mr. Bare was a member of the Jonesborough Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardner. Survivors include three daughters, Wanda L. Byas and her husband J.C., Brenda L. Hodges and Carlene Y. Smallman; one son, Ronald H. Bare and his wife Linda; two sisters, Mamie F. Keys and Betty J. Sneeringer; one brother, James Allen Bare; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren. The funeral service for Mr. W. Herman Bare will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday, August 4, 2013, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Ministers Tony Sayre and Jerry Sayre will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service.
