Walter Egbert Fields

Walter Egbert Fields, age 59, 910 N. Boone St., died Friday, February 2, 2002, at the Northside Hospital. Mr. Fields as a native of Russell County, Virginia and a son of the late Claude E. and Eula Chapman Fields. He was employed by Mayes Brothers Tool Manufacturing. He was a member of Princeton Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Roosevelt and Claude David Fields, preceded Mr. Fields in death. Survivors include: his wife Phyllis Ann Self Fields, of the home; two sons, Claude Fields, Meadowview, VA, and Danny Fields, of the home; four brothers, James Fields, Paul Fields, and Joe Fields, all of Johnson City, and Carl Fields, of Hickory, NC; three sisters, Ruthe Mabe, Bristol, TN, Mary Horychata, Arizona, and Beaulah Sword, Abingdon, VA; a special niece, Nancy Hensley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Walter Fields will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Randy English will officiate. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to Washington County Memory Gardens for committal services. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
