Wanda Elizabeth Simpson

Mrs. Wanda Elizabeth Simpson, age 84, of Johnson City, passed away, Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Unicoi County Long Term Care, Erwin. Mrs. Simpson was a native of Washington County. She was the daughter of the late Gentry Tate and Elizabeth Tate. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Eldridge Simpson; one daughter, Kay Price; five brothers, Adrian Tate, Billy Tate, Keith Tate, Irie Tate and Verley, Sr.; one half sister, Lochell Isenberg. Mrs. Simpson retired from TPI after twenty plus years of service. Survivors include: one son, Jerry Simpson of Johnson City; one daughter, Janet Keys and her husband Danny Mack Keys of Jonesborough; three brothers, Gentry Tate of Texas, Hal Tate of Illinois and JB Tate of Johnson City; three grandsons. The funeral service for Mrs. Wanda Elizabeth Simpson will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, January 9, 2012 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Pastor David B. Brickey will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Travis Brown, Wayne Miller, Denise Miller, Rodney Williams, Danny Mack Keys and Mark Williams. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Tuesday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
