Wanda L. Hankal

Wanda L. Hankal, 75, went to be with the Lord at the Johnson City Medical Center on Wednesday March 27, 2013. She was a resident of Washington County, TN. As a member of Mountain View Baptist Church she served in many capacities when her health allowed. These include clown ministries, Shut-in ministries, VBS, and Childrens Church. She also volunteered for 400+ hours at JCMC. She thoroughly enjoyed her group of dear friends that made up the Mall Lunch Club. She also enjoyed her daily walks thru the Johnson City Mall and greeting her friends. She was proceeded in death by her Mother, Mary Sue Ford; Step Father, J C Pierce; Sister, Jean Bowers; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. She is survived by her loving husband of Fifty three years, James Hankal; Son, David Hankal and wife Karen; Brother-in-Law that was like a son, Larry Hankal and wife Mary Ellen; granddaughters Amanda Hankal, Ashley Sparks and husband Eric; Step Sister, Ruth Mitchell and husband Robert; Step Brother, Stoney Pierce; several nieces and nephews; and Special Friends, Bob and Mary Leonard, Crystal Greer, and the Mall Lunch Club. A special thank you to the staff and physicians of 2900 as well as Dr. Floresguerra. We truly appreciate all the care that was given to Wanda and us as a family. The funeral service for Wanda L. Hankal will be conducted at 7 PM Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor David Hankal and Rev. James Cambron will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Randy Bowers, Stoney Pierce, Ronnie Hamilton, Gary Monroe, Adam Walton, and Keeley Leonard. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hankal and Benny Hurd. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Morris-Baker prior to the service.
