)Wayne B. Hopkins, 73 of 1183 Corby Bridge Road, Chuckey, TN died Friday, June 27, 2008 in the James H. Quillen VAMC at Mountain Home. Mr. Hopkins was a native of Ottumwa, Iowa, was a former resident of Des Moines, Iowa and has lived in Tennessee since 1988. He was a son of the late Wayne B. and Hazel White Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a retired forklift operator working with AMF-Western International in Des Moines. He is preceded in death by his parents and also a son, Gary Lee Hopkins in 2008. Survivors include: his wife Mary Johnson Hopkins of the home; two sons, Robert C. and his wife Rebecca Hopkins of Goose Creek, SC, Norman and his wife Sheyrl Hopkins of Colfax, Iowa; one brother, Walter Hopkins of Florida; two sisters, Marilyn Shilling and Thelma Fullmer, both of Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Travis Michael Hopkins, Randy Lee Hopkins, Lucas Hopkins, Jessy Hopkins, Samantha Hopkins, Michael Aument, and Laura Aument; seven great grandchildren, Joey Lee Hopkins, Haley Nicole Hopkins, Trey Xavier Hopkins, Brandon Hopkins, Michael Hopkins, Dakota Hopkins, and Emma Louise Seiders; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Wayne B. Hopkins will be conducted at 7:30 PM Monday, June 30, 2008 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Don Kelley will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by Post 3382 V.F.W. and the Tennessee National Guard. The procession will leave Morris-Baker at 10:30 AM Tuesday. Active pallbearers will be Randy Hopkins, Travis Hopkins, Lucas Hopkins, Jessy Hopkins, and Michael Aument. The family will receive friends in the North Chapel from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Monday prior to the service.
