William Anderson Cross

William Anderson “Bill” Cross of Piney Flats, TN died Saturday, December 3, 2022, peacefully at his home following a brief illness.

Mr. Cross was born July 31, 1929, in Sullivan County, TN to the late Rice and Nancy Mottern Cross. He was a lifelong farmer.

Mr. Cross was a faithful member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church in Piney Flats, TN. He loved his family, agriculture, gardening, hunting, eating pie, antiques, and telling stories.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters Rebecca Cross, Anita Pansock (Michael), all of Piney Flats, TN, two granddaughters, Jessi (Jake) Jones of Mosheim, TN, Taylor (Tyler) Gaby, of Piney Flats, TN, two great-granddaughters, Amelia Jones and Madelyn Gaby. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as a dear and special friend, Bet Grindstaff.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cross is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Church Cross.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to all his caregivers and Hospice team for their love and dedication during his last days.

A private service was conducted in Oak Hall at Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the supervision of Mr. Roland Whittemore.
