Susan Lighthart Berner, age 49, and William E. Berner, age 65, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 26, 2021 at their home in Church Hill, Tennessee.

Susan was born on September 18, 1971 in Rockford, Illinois to Curtis Lighthart and Nancy Blade Lighthart. When she was able to, she loved to work. She loved crocheting. Most of all, she liked to stay home with her children. Susan was very proud of her daughter and grandson.
William was born on August 14, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to William Berner, Sr. and Maryana Ferguson Berner. William was a Vietnam veteran, and he was very proud of his service as an Army Air Vet. He was a very hard worker. In addition to his military service, he also worked at Chrysler and as a semi-truck driver. William’s favorite thing to do was woodworking and building things with his hands, and he adored his grandchildren.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Megan (and Randall Dickerson) Lighthart; grandson, Chase Lighthart and grandson, Damien Dickerson due in June; sister, Michelle (and Brad) Perry (and their children: Jacob and Brandon Perry); brother, Curtis (and Mel) Lighthart (and their children: Levi, Taylor, and Dalton Lighthart); and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Her parents preceded her in death.

William is survived by his children, Tonya, Justin Berner, Cherie (and Kevin) Yudt (and their children, Brandon, Kenslie, and Tyler), Billy (Heather) Berner (and their children, Logan and Abby); sisters, Kathey, Vickey, Terey, and Peggy; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
