William Earl Effler

Obituary: William Earl Effler (with photo) William Earl Effler, 85, of Johnson City, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 in the Asbury Place. Mr. Effler was a native of Erwin, TN and a son of the late John and Artie Rice Effler. He was a retired tile setter employed by East Tennessee Tile and Marble for over twenty years. Mr. Effler was an Army veteran serving his country during World War II. He enjoyed making jewelry, fishing and working in flowers. Survivors include: his wife of sixty-five years, Virginia Snyder Effler of the home; three children, Fran Hicks of Johnson City, John Effler of Tazewell, VA and Shirley Jordan of Knoxville; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. There are no plans for a memorial service at this time.
