William H. 'Bill' Duncan William H. Duncan, 92, passed away Thursday evening, April 23, in Johnson City. His children were with him at the time of his death. Mr. Duncan was the youngest child of the late Mac and Sarah Enice Duncan of Bristol, Va. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Buford (1939) and Grant (1991); and three sisters: Virginia Brightwell (1979), Georgia Horner (1985), and Christine Sheaff (1999). Mr. Duncan was a US Marine veteran of WWII, having served in Okinawa. He continued in the US Marine Corps Reserve after WWII, retiring in 1968 with 28 years of service. In his civilian life, he was a grocer. Mr. Duncan is survived by his loving wife of nearly 69 years: Mary E. (Barr) Duncan of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Ken and Barbara Duncan of Kingsport; one daughter: Brenda Morison of Johnson City; one granddaughter: Erin Duncan; several nieces and nephews. The Duncans had lived in Bristol, Johnson City, Jonesborough, Greeneville, Elizabethton, and Pigeon Forge during their marriage. There was no formal visitation. A private burial service took place on Saturday afternoon, April 25 at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, Tennessee.
