William Larn Broyles

William Larn Broyles, 92, 1314 Baxter Street, Johnson City, died Thursday, August 21, 2008 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Broyles was a native of Chucky, Tn. who had lived in Johnson City since 1947. He was the son of the late Henry C. and Leona Foster Broyles. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Hazen, Alvin, Clarence, Carl, Charles, Murl, Chester and Buford Broyles; one sister, Mildred Huskins. Mr. Broyles retired from Leon Fernebach as an electrician after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Broyles was a U.S. Army WWII veteran of the North African Sicily and Italian campaigns. Survivors include: his wife, Ruby Roberts Broyles of the home; one son, Greg Broyles and his wife Jamie of Knoxville; one daughter, Dr. Amy Broyles Young and her husband Dr. Mark Young; five grandchildren, Matthew Gregory Broyles, Erin Elizabeth Broyles, Michael Robert Broyles, Thomas Biagio Young and Nicole Kimberly Young. The family would like to express their gratitude for the skillful care and compassion from all the doctors and nurses during Mr. Broyles hospitalization. The funeral service for William Larn Broyles will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, August 22, 2008 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Bob Edmonds will officiate. Entombment services will be conducted at 9:30 AM Saturday from the Chapel Mausoleum at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 9:15 AM. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Bristol VFW Honor Guard will accord military honors. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service.
