William Lewis Bill Nelson

Mr. William 'Bill'? Lewis Nelson, age 69, of Gray, passed away November 14, 2012, in the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Nelson was a native of Sullivan County who had lived most of his life in Gray. He was the son of the late Charles Ernest Nelson and Daisy White Nelson. In addition to his parents, one sister, Louise Cole; one brother, John Nelson; two nephews, Ralph Dotson and Danny Cole also preceded him in death. Mr. Nelson retired from American Waters Heaters after twenty-five years of service. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his loving wife of forty-seven years, Judy Hodges Nelson of the home; two sons, Rick Nelson and his wife Amy and Craig Nelson and his wife Michelle; three sisters, Georgia Fugarino, Jean Tabor and Gladys Dotson; five grandsons, Chris Nelson, David Nelson, Shawn Nelson, Jeff Nelson and Alex Crawford. The funeral service for William 'Bill'? Lewis Nelson will be conducted at 8 PM Friday November 16, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Gary Hodges will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday in the Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Chris Nelson, David Nelson, Shawn Nelson, Jeff Nelson, Alex Crawford, Michael Barnes and Roy Hammond. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:25 AM Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday prior to the service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Fresenius Dialysis and the nurses and doctors at the Holston Medical Group.
