William Preston Bill Greene

Mr. William 'Bill'? Preston Greene, age 78 of Piney Flats, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Greene was a native of Johnson City who had lived most of his life in Piney Flats. He was the son of the late Dewey William Greene and Emma Stella White. In addition to his parents two sisters, Betty Grene Tipton and Joanne Miller also preceded him in death. Bill received Jesus as his Lord October 19, 2009. He was the owner and operator of Zekes Market for over thirty-five years. Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Shelby Greene; two sons, David Greene and Gerald Greene; two sisters, Dora Carpenter and Mary Johnson; two daughter-in-laws, Sherry Greene and Lisa Greene; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. William 'Bill'? Preston Greene will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, January 3, 2014 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The funeral service will follow in the South Chapel at 8 PM. Rev. Richard Bawgus and Rev. Bryant Collins, Jr. will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 12:30 PM Saturday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be David Greene, Gerald Greene, Eric Greene, William Greene, Clayton Bailey and Matt Trivette. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12 PM Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
