Willie Taylor Light, age 85, of Gray, TN, went to be with Our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
Willie was born October 26, 1935, in Washington County, TN to William and Mary Eva Taylor. She attended the University School and was proud to continue her education at ETSU where she earned her associate degree. She worked at Stowers Machinery for 31 years until her retirement in 1998.
Willie was an active member of Boones Creek Christian Church for many years. She especially enjoyed volunteering her time in the kitchen. She was also very active in the Widow2Widow program.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Light; brother, Elmer Taylor; and sister, Dorothy Whitaker.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Lila (Ronnie) Parker, Phyllis (Gary) Harvey, and Paula (Jeff) Hise; grandchildren, Jeremy HIse, Jerrod Hise, April Bingham, Ron Paul Parker, Gatlin Harvey, and Ariel Harvey; great-grandchildren, Austin, Maddie, and Jeremiah Hise, Angel and Seth Bingham-Hise, Ron Paul, Christina, and Lane Parker, Layton and Riley Harvey, and Melody Harvey; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Willie’s family will be receiving friends from 11:30-12:30 on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral will immediately follow the visitation, at 12:30 pm, under the direction of Dick Morris, Associate Pastor at Boones Creek Christian Church. There will be a procession to Monte Vista Memorial Park for a graveside service at 2:00 pm.
