Wilma Fair Bowman

Wilma Fair Bowman, 88, 2409 Circleview Drive, Johnson City, passed away to be with the Lord Thursday, March 4, 2010 at her daughters residence in Limestone. Ms. Bowman was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Charles Davis Fair and Mary Christine Livingston Fair. In addition to her parents two sons, Gary Bowman and Jerry Bowman; one daughter, Sandy Burchfield; five sisters, Georgia Lady, Cora Strobel, Eunice Borrowman, Iris Kirby and Lucille Josephet; three brothers, Charlie, Hexie and Bennett Fair also preceded her in death. Ms. Bowman retired in 1998 from TPI after 34 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: one daughter, Gail Rushing of Limestone; one daughter-in-law, Mary Bowman; one son-in-law, Gary Burchfield; nine grandchildren, Randy Hodge, Harold 'Herb'? Hodge, Jr., Terry Cox, Roger Cox, Stacey Bowman, Sonya Compton, Gary Burchfield, Jr., Sherry Miller and Lisa Burchfield; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Ms. Wilma Fair Bowman will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday March 7, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Clay Hooks will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Harold 'Herb'? Hodge, Jr., Terry Cox, Roger Cox, Scott Odom, Gary Burchfield, Jr. and Matt Lunsford. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bob Kay and Tony Hensley. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Monday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service and other times at the residence of the daughter, Gail Rushing, 119 Garland Road Limestone, Tn. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimers Association, 207 North Boone Street, Johnson City, Tn. 37604.
