Wilma Lee Gentry, 76, 1704 Jackson Terrace, Johnson City, died Wednesday October 29, 2008 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Gentry was a native of Marshall, North Carolina who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Vestal and Oma Plemmons Darnell. In addition to her parents one daughter, Patricia Fann in 2006 and one sister, Fay Massey also preceded her in death. Mrs. Gentry was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty Street Baptist Church, Spring Creek, North Carolina. Survivors include: her husband, Hobert Gentry of the home; one son, Ronald Gentry of Johnson City; one daughter, Sandra Long and her husband Dennis of Gray; two sisters, Girtha Massey of Hot Springs, North Carolina and Grace Sutton of Clyde, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Stephanie Fann; two great granddaughters, Summer and Brittany. The funeral service for Wilma Lee Gentry will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, November 1, 2008 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Bob Edmonds will officiate. The entombment service will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be: Mark Anderson, Tommy Thurman, Tommy Justis, Jerry Justis, Kevin Gentry and Dennis Long. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 1 to 2 PM Saturday prior to the service.
